SUMMARY:2026 Ocean Sciences Meeting (OSM)
DESCRIPTION:Event location: Glasgow\, ScotlandEvent start: 22/02/2026Event end: 27/02/2026 \nThe Ocean Science Meetings gather every two years researcher\, policymakers\, and stakeholders from around the world to share cutting-edge discoveries\, forge collaborations\, and address pressing challenges our oceans are facing. \nThis year in Glasgow\, researchers from ISOLUME project together with ALANIS joint efforts to chair a session on Light in the Ocean: From fundamental driver to emerging change – drivers\, impacts and monitoring changing marine lightscapes. This session focus on exploring drivers\, dynamics\, and ecological consequences of changing unterwater light regimes. Topics include remote sensing and in situ monitoring\, ecological modeling\, biological feedback to ocean optics\, and the role of light in shaping ecosystem structure and function. Emphasis will be placed on research that integrates spatial and temporal scales—from estuaries to ocean basins and from historical change to future projections—as well as studies that link science with policy or stakeholder engagement. This session aims to foster cross-disciplinary dialogue and inform evidence-based strategies for managing and conserving aquatic ecosystems in a rapidly changing world. Stay tuned for more updated! \nPoster Session \n\n\nTitle: Light in the Ocean: From Fundamental Driver to Emerging Change-Drivers\, Impacts and Monitoring Changing Marine Lightscapes II Poster \n\n\nDate: Wednesday\, 25 February 2026 \n\nTime: 16:00-18:00\n\nLocation: Hall 4 (Poster Hall) ( SEC) \n\n\nOral Session \n\n\nTitle: Light in the Ocean: From Fundamental Driver to Emerging Change-Drivers\, Impacts\, and Monitoring Changing Marine Lightscapes I Oral \n\n\nDate: Wednesday\, 25 February 2026 \n\n\nTime: 14:00-15:30 \n\n\nLocation: Hall 1 (SEC)
